Q. What does peer-reviewed mean?

Answer

Peer-review means that a written work has been evaluated by people with knowledge in the same field who have verified the sources and information found within that particular work, usually a journal article. Many of the journal databases found in the Mott Library's Online Resources, offer an option to limit your search to peer-reviewed articles.
